In teams of two to four, counselors are "in loco parentis" (in place of parents) for their Unit of 8-12 campers. Counselors are expected to be fully engaged with campers, keep their campers safe, act as role models, and guide campers through the schedule/activities they have planned together. During staff training, all counselors will learn the activity skills they will need.
