Company Overview
KVC Hospitals is a nonprofit organization that each year serves thousands of children and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts and feelings of violence. Our three children’s psychiatric hospitals in Kansas - Kansas City, Hays, and Wichita — offer acute/inpatient psychiatric treatments. Our Kansas City and Hays locations also offer residential psychiatric treatment, as does our Niles location in Kansas City, MO. KVC uses innovative, evidence-based treatment approaches to ensure each child’s safety and wellbeing.
In addition to providing psychiatric services to children, KVC Hospitals provides consulting to organizations on trauma-informed care and other important topics.
The organization is accredited by The Joint Commission, considered the gold standard in healthcare, and endorsed by the Annie E. Casey Foundation as a national best practice organization. KVC Hospitals is part of KVC Health Systems.

Company History
KVC Health Systems, headquartered in the greater Kansas City area, is a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization and a national leader in behavioral healthcare and child welfare. The organization is committed to its mission of enriching and enhancing the lives of children and families by providing medical and behavioral healthcare, social services, and education. In its 46-year history, KVC (formerly Kaw Valley Center) has grown from a single home founded by volunteers to help at-risk boys to a comprehensive organization touching the lives of over 61,000 children and families each year.
The diverse continuum of services KVC offers includes in-home support to keep families together, foster care, adoption, outpatient behavioral healthcare, youth substance abuse treatment, and psychiatric hospitals. KVC Health Systems is the parent organization of subsidiaries including:
