Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a director of consultation-liaison (C/L) psychiatry services at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), in Hackensack, NJ. The director of C/L services will report to the chair of psychiatry.
The director is responsible for providing clinical care to patients, as well as assigning other C/L team members (Physicians, APNs, and PAs) to provide clinical care to patients in the inpatient medical psychiatric unit, outpatient behavioral health and wellness center, and consults in Pediatric and Adult ETD, as well as the medical and surgical floors. In addition, the director will serve as a representative of the C/L team at relevant meetings/committees as assigned by the chair of psychiatry, and manage the on-call schedule for the department. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in C/L psychiatry.

Responsibilities:
- Provides teaching and supervision of residents/medical students.
- Manages and organizes the HUMC psychiatry department on-call schedule.
- Provides clinical psychiatric evaluation and treatment of patients.
- Ability to communicate and work collaboratively across disciplines, care settings and provider types.
- Monitors the medical and psychiatric needs of patients in the hospital (inpatient and consultation-liaison) and outpatient settings.
- Responsible for the medical care delivered by HUMC C/L Psychiatry Service, including coverage of the Emergency Department (ED).
- Perform other duties as directed by the Chair of Psychiatry at HUMC or his/her designee.
Requirements:
- M.D/D.O. degree from a recognized medical school
- Obtain and maintain Board Certification granted by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license, CDS, and DEA
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Education:
- Fellowship training from an accredited fellowship program in C/L Psychiatry
- Board Certification in C/L Psychiatry

COMPENSATION:
Minimum Starting Base Salary: $259,707

Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
