DescriptionSouthern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Education, Health, and Human Behavior is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Professor-Psychology position. Preferred applicants will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching of clinical psychology courses both in-person and online. The department seeks a strong scholar who can add to the diversity of research interests among our faculty and contribute to our collegial and student-focused department. Responsibilities will also include advising graduate students, chairing theses, supervising student research, and serving on departmental, school, and university committees.

Terms of Appointment
Full time, continuing 9-month tenure-track position. Summer appointment is contingent upon availability of funds and enrollment. Beginning date of appointment is in August 2026.

Qualifications
Applicants for this position must possess an earned doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. ABD candidates will be considered, but the doctorate is required by the contract start date in August 2026. Evidence of, or potential for, successful undergraduate and graduate teaching, service at all levels of the university, and high-quality research is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Psychopathology, Theories of Personality, Research Design & Statistics, and/or Foundations of Psychology; actual course assignments may vary depending on departmental needs
- Ability to teach graduate courses in Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy and/or Personality Assessment and other graduate-level Clinical Psychology program content; actual course assignments may vary depending on departmental needs and may include Multicultural Counseling and Psychotherapy
- Ability to teach online courses
- Demonstrated interest in teaching and working with students from diverse backgrounds
- Interest in engaging students in research and experiential learning
- Evidence of peer-reviewed scholarship
- Commitment to departmental and university collegiality through engagement in service activities
