About the Role
- The Lead Genetic Counselor provides direct patient care while serving as an administrative, clinical, and educational leader for WVU Medicine and Peak Health. This position plays a central role in:
- Developing and implementing system-wide genetic counseling protocols and best practices
- Mentoring and supporting a growing team of genetic counselors
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams
- Driving policy development related to genetic testing and treatment coverage
- Expanding access to high-quality genetic counseling across our network
- This unique opportunity includes a balanced mix of leadership and clinical practice, with approximately 50% administrative and 50% clinical focus.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or related field
- Board Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Genetic Counselor; leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical genetics, quality improvement, and education
