Description
St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) team. This key position provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients experiencing acute behavioral health emergencies. The CPEP psychiatrist plays a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring timely decision-making and patient stabilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough psychiatric assessments for individuals in crisis
Develop and manage treatment plans, including psychopharmacologic intervention and appropriate referrals for continued care
Collaborate closely with emergency medicine physicians, nurses, social workers, and security personnel to deliver coordinated, effective, and safe patient care
Qualifications:
Active New York State medical license or eligibility
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
Exceptional interpersonal and diagnostic skills, with the ability to thrive in high-acuity settings
Prior experience in emergency psychiatry or related behavioral health fields is highly desirable
