Candidates should have a strong interest in professional academic development and be self-motivated to advance the field of Psychiatry. In addition to the Clinical Psychiatry role, this position will also have dedicated time within the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology’s Research Shield. This position will contribute to Mayo Clinic’s Research Shield mission to transform medicine to connect and cure as the global authority in the care of serious or complex diseases. Departmental support of FTE and mentorship will be provided, with the goal of meeting criteria of a Clinician Engaged in Research (CER) and securing internal or external funding within three years. A desire to mentor junior investigators and contribute to multidisciplinary research is required.
The ideal candidate will have a large portfolio of scientific publications and presentations at national conferences that aligns with established multidisciplinary research teams including psychosomatics, cardiovascular disease, and/or stress management interventions for medical patients. Research accomplishments should be substantial, allowing the candidate to meet criteria for appointment of the academic rank level of Associate Professor or higher at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. Current research funding in Behavioral Medicine in preferred.
Requirements
Board-certification in Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is required. If not already board certified, achievement of certification is expected in the first three years of employment. Minnesota Medical Licensure
