Description
About the Laureate Institute for Brain Research (LIBR)
The Laureate Institute for Brain Research (LIBR) is an independent, philanthropically supported research institute located on the campus of the Laureate Psychiatric Clinic and Hospital (LPCH) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the past decade, LIBR has built a nationally recognized interdisciplinary program that leverages advanced neuroscience, multimodal neuroimaging, and large-scale electronic health record (EHR) data to identify new mechanisms, diagnostic tools, and treatment strategies for psychiatric disorders.
Our investigators lead multiple NIH-funded projects, including R01s and a Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) award, supporting research in mood, anxiety, eating, and substance use disorders, computational psychiatry, and precision neuroimaging. LIBR is also launching a major new Bipolar Research Initiative, integrating clinical, neurobiological, and EHR-based phenotyping to accelerate discovery. We maintain close collaborations with the University of Tulsa and OU–Tulsa, fostering a rapidly growing academic community in the region.

Design and oversee studies that bridge basic and translational science, including neuroimaging, psychophysiology, and EHR-integrated clinical research.
Publish in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals and present findings at major scientific meetings.
Provide medical oversight for research participants, including review of laboratory and ECG results, diagnostic clarification, eligibility determinations, and management of urgent medical or psychiatric concerns.
Unique Advantages
Protected research time within a stable, well-funded institutional environment.
Integration of clinical oversight into cutting-edge human neuroscience and EHR-enabled precision psychiatry research.
No teaching or external clinical obligations.

Collaborative, collegial environment within an affordable and welcoming city.
Requirements
Qualifications
M.D. or equivalent with training in psychiatry.
Eligibility for Oklahoma medical licensure.
Demonstrated research productivity (peer-reviewed publications, grant participation) or strong potential for independent funding (e.g., NIH K or R awards).
