Camp Adventure, Inc. Job Listing and Requirements
for position of Assistant and Head Counselor
Employment Status: Seasonal Position - Starts Monday, June 8th, 2026 and ends Friday, August 7th, 2026.
Qualifications:
*For Lower Camp ages 5 - 7, head counselor must be at least 21 years old,and assistant counselor 18 years old. Middle, Upper, and Teen Camp ages 8 - 14, counselor must be at least 18 years of age, and possess the maturity and skills needed to perform the job successfully.
*Have a sincere desire to work with and be of service to children.
*Be able to work the full summer, with minimal to no days missed. Camp is only 43 to 48 days this summer, depending on the 2026 - 2027 Broward County School Calendar, which is yet to be determined, and camp is difficult to run when counselors are inconsistent with their attendance.
*Be willing to actively fulfill the goals and mission of Camp Adventure, Inc..
*Have leadership experience in some capacity, and be able to demonstrate solid organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
*Make every effort to be a leadership presence at all times, and build a nurturing environment within your group.
*Be reliable, responsible, and be at camp. Great attendance is mandatory!
*Supervise your group at all times.
*Take accurate attendance and lunch count daily.
*Work closely with camp directors, as well as C.I.T.s, in coordinating daily activities, and follow provided schedule daily.
*Be an integral part of the camper discipline system.
*Assist directors and co-counselors in planning and implementing special events such as Carnival, Wacky Olympics, and Color War.
